Toyo Tyres invited us out to cover the third Festival of 86 was held in Canberra last weekend, was a cracker of a day! Sun was out and we were in, even if it was just for the road trip!
The event (now in it’s third year) once again drew dedicated owners from all over the country, the Sutton Road Driver Training Centre just kills it as a venue; ample space, skid pan, hill climb, so so rad!
All day there were #TR86 race car passenger hot laps on the hairy road course, drift rides on the skid pan, a car show featuring not only 86’s but also a few Toyota classics, banging tunes, great food (on the house too, thanks Toyota!) and to top it off, the 86’s global chief engineer, Tetsuya Tada, a rock star in the world of 86 enthusiasts, was back once more to meet and greet the fans.
We had a great day out. We can only imagine how much more elation 86 owners would have been feeling for Toyota, who sure know how to put on a polished event!
