I’ve not driven a manual in over 6 years (ever since buying my 4th Honda Jazz!) so I was pretty excited when Charlie from Autoroe offered to lend me an MX5 for a week.
Turns out it’s a special one too. A 2000 NB MX5 Series 1 ‘Heritage Edition’ one of 100 units in total commissioned by Mazda Australia and the first NB MX5 offered with a 6-speed manual.
I’m forever an NA guy, but I’m an old man now and hey this NB suits my age with it’s lush burgundy exterior with ivory leather interior with matching carpets and soft top and on top of that a Nardi Woodgrain steering wheel with matching gear knob and dash trim surrounds.
Amazingly this is a one owner car too with, get this, only 23,000kms on the clock!
Lovely car, and was SO fun to drive and to be back behind the wheel of an MX5. Gina and I drove top down at all times and thought we’d wash the car before this little shoot.
