Last night, Justin and I had the privilege of joining a select group of creatives at LaPorte Space in Rosebery, hosted by Nikon Australia.
Without knowing too much about the event, we went in expecting a PR event focused on their new entry level mirrorless camera, the Z50 II.

Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we would be treated to a presentation by guest speaker, Michaela Taylor, aka Kayla Tayla.
Michaela is a photographer turned personal branding coach, and she walked us through her journey of going from apple customer support to how she was able to transition into freelance photography and amass a social following of over 100,000. Her talk was a transparent blend of vulnerability, advice and involved plenty of audience interaction along the way.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a PR event without free food and branded swag.

We were fortunate enough to get some valuable facetime with Michaela and we found a lot of common ground, potentially another Find Your Zen feature soon??

Everyone got hands on time with the camera, although not a tool for me, I was surprised by how compact it was in the hand. I’d say it’s a great option for a basic travel setup or for someone looking to start out with some content creation.

Overall it was a great way to spend a Thursday night, with no bad vibes!
