Have you ever been in love?

Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart. It means that someone can get inside you and completely mess you up.

You build these defences, you build up a whole suit of armour, so that nothing can hurt you. Then one person, no different from any other person wanders into your life. You give them a piece of you.

You didn’t ask for it, they didn’t ask it for. But they did something one day like kiss you or make you smile. And then your life isn’t yours to own anymore.

You were both young, and stupid. Naive and insecure. And ultimately selfish. You thought that when you both had the ultimate love, you both could fix your own broken souls.

But this love takes you hostage.

It gets inside you, it eats you up and leaves you crying in the darkness. So simple a phase like “maybe we could be just friends” turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart.

And it hurts.

Not just in our the imagination.
Not just in our minds.

It’s soul-hurt.

A real gets-inside-you-rips-you-apart pain.

And after all this.

I don’t hate love. I love it.
Until this day I still love, love.

It’s what drives me everyday.
My friends, my family, my dreams and myself.

I really love, love.

I healed from loving, appreciating, accepting and until this day, I still thank him.

It’s been years since I saw his face, I have no idea what he’s doing, what he’s eating or if he’s alive and well. But I just wanted to share with everyone, that we all just don’t forget things to move on. We don’t become this ungrateful soulless person to move on. (Sorry to say!!).

But we all just learn to forgive.
Block out some of our senses, but continuously build ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves.

We don’t speak about breakups as open and as often as we should, so I just wanted to let every one of my friends know that what you are going through or have been through, be PROUD.

PROUD that life threw you a curve ball, you lost yourself a little but look at you now. You’re still living, breathing, growing and loving.

So my friends, a breakup is never easy. Who said it was? We all do crazy things to heal ourselves along the way but just don’t forget one thing.

Don’t forget to heal YOU.

Reach out to your friends and family.
No one ever wants to see you loose yourself.

There’s always someone there wanting to listen and help you whole heartedly.
Someone to tell you that it’s okay, it hurts but it’s going to make you stronger and turn you into Iron Man, or Iron Woman. Whatever tickles your fancy.

So friends, look at you now!

Look at that beautiful human in the mirror that’s looking back at you.
Look at the beautiful human that’s wonderfully creating, inspiring, laughing and loving – it’s all you baby, it’s all you.

Look at you now. ❤

Thank you.
