Sam from Streetfans.net has documented his awesome road trip from Sydney to Batemans Bay and back again, specifically focussing on Sam’s (AKA Clutch Monkey) gorgeous 911. Be sure to check out even more photos and words on his JDMST thread. Sams words, and images follow:

So after the ‘Straya Day skids and AllStars show ‘n’ shine, Clutch Monkey and I, along with our friend Regi decided to head south to Bateman’s Bay to spend the weekend getting drunk, swimming and shooting the shit. From Sydney Motorsport Park we went to the Royal Cricketers Arms Hotel and had a light lunch and a few beers.

Weirdly my Datsun looks good with the Porker.

Heading back to my place to drop the Datsun home we grabbed our shit and hit the road. I was passenger in Regi’s Golf Gti and took the chance to grab a few rolling shots of the 911.

Highway miles are boring so I’ll skip to when we exited from the Hume highway.

Wheeeeeee!!!

We started to get caught up behind traffic so we waved Clutch through so he could take advantage where the Gti couldn’t.

At the bottom of the hill we pulled over because the Golf had about 2 litres of fuel left. I noticed these wings sticking out from the corner of the 911’s hood.

Clutch may or may not have thrashed the ever loving shit out of the 911 on the way down after overtaking us, and it had a bit of trouble starting after sitting as we ate.

Once we got bored of waiting for the starter motor to unstick we push started the 911 and headed south again.

People from the south coast are retarded. As evidenced by this Astra that under steered right into the kerb.

And this abortion.

We cant stop here! This is bat country!

And so ends our trip down to just south of Batemans Bay. We spent the days swimming and Sunday night getting drunk on an absolutely lethal mix of Vodka, Lime, Mint, Apple juice and Lemonade. Monday morning we hit the road reasonably early to avoid traffic.

Its surprising how much boot space the 911 has.

I was passenger in the 911 on the way home as Regi was heading straight to his place in Canberra a few hours later.

To continue on our history of trying to find the best roads possible we went hunting. The scenery was amazing.

And we came across this little beauty.

We spotted J Fox’s side job, who knew he was a tradie?

The random roads are the best, we came across this sorry looking hunk at a wreckers.

This GTR was waiting for us at the fuel station on the way north.

Hiding away on the side of the road was this little beauty.

This was the hillside we were heading up, and looking forward to it despite the constant rain. We were quite worried about traffic, but most people went via the coast road leaving us free for quite a few Km’s.

Aww yeah!

So pretty!

Hnnng!

Fuck! Traffic! Turns out the road was closed up ahead and we were forced to detour. We skipped the queue and went the opposite direction to everyone else.

Part three: Road Pron! So, Part three, the sexiest part and easily our best idea ever. To avoid the traffic we explored our own path down roads and managed to get 17Kms out of Nowra after driving for 52Kms.. Thats right. It took us 52Km to get 17Km out of a town. We’re that awesome. I’ll shut up until there is something interesting to say.

We stopped for afternoon tea at a bakery in Mittagong, and found THE BEST sausage rolls ever.

I had the Apricot tart, and Clutch had the Pear Tart. So damned tasty.

And finally. This is why you seal up your car properly when you rebuild it. Clutch is a lazy c**t and left a seam somewhere open to the elements. The pool was threatening to leak onto the ECU, so we used my towel to stem the flow.

So in conclusion, it took us 6 and a half hours to drive 220km’s. We hunt roads, and we hunt them pretty good :D
