Wheel choice is important when modifying a car, regardless of age or style. Different brands, sizes, colours, and fitment can say a lot about the purpose of the car and the tastes of the owner. For that reason, enthusiasts can be incredibly passionate about wheels, not only for the way they look, but the idea they project.

This has been pretty obvious with the first stage of the NFSxZEN Crew Create initiative, where the public was presented with three different choices of wheels for the Zen S15 , and asked to vote for their favourite! You can see how the first week of NFSxZEN Crew Create went here on Zen Garage and over on the NFS Facebook.

Seeing everyone get so hyped up about choosing a set of wheels, I decided to throw my camera on the floor at EOMM and get some nice juicy shots of Sydney’s wheel game.

Modifying original wheels can look better than a new set – as shown with these widened VW Beetle Steelies with stock chrome caps and whitewalls.

Aftermarket wheels can create a completely different attitude to the stock look (body-kits help too!).

Yep. Work Equips on a Holden… or maybe it IS an Izuzu?

The VAG scene love to throw Lambo wheels on their rides, but I think they suit their namesake best. Perfect mix of industrial hard edges and Italian curves!

OK! Thats cool!

As the sun set, the light turned incredibly warm and hazy – Perfect backdrop for a slammed tank!

Still trying to convince my dad to put his Merc on bags…

Who wore it better?

My VW Beetle runs Porsche ATS “Cookie Cutters”, A pretty unusual 80’s era 5 spoke. I didn’t like them at first, but they have really grown on me, always a talking point too!

The GTR 7 Spokes give off a “Japanese Supercar – Please don’t touch” kind of vibe.

I support underglow neon revival.

Cragar chrome, not common but always welcome at EOMM.

This imposing Falcon had some really great details. Matt black with a red sparkle roof, and tiny stockies tucked in under the crusty guards. Love it!
